These risks are mainly associated with the use of technology, such as limited awareness and the susceptibility to fraud through passwords, identity theft, and social engineering attacks. These risks have compelled regulators to rethink their approach to supervising consumer protection for digital financial services (CP4DFS).
Through examples and case studies, this survey report examines the state of regulation of CP4DFS in AFI member countries and provides practical insights for policymakers on how to use the related policy model.
