On 10 August 2021 at 09:00 am (UTC) AFI is organizing a training session on innovations in contactless payments and policy ecosystem to promote an inclusive digital payments system, for its member institutions from Africa. The training will be held in two parts as mentioned below:

In collaboration with VISA under AFI’s Public Private Dialogue, the first part of the training will focus on how contactless is helping to expand inclusive digital payments to benefit people, especially small businesses, and governments, supported by use cases and examples. The session will also encourage a public-private dialogue by discussing the role of global and common standards and sharing some implementation experiences.
Policy Recommendations for Merchant Payments – 10:55 am to 12:00 pm (UTC)
The second part is a member training led by AFI, which will discuss the challenges that impede the acceptance of merchant payments and policy recommendations that can be adopted to increase the acceptance of digital payments by merchants. Two speakers from AFI member institutions and a speaker from FinTech company will be invited to share insights and experience in this session.
