AFI is organizing the Eastern Europe Central Asia Policy Initiative (ECAPI) Experts Group on Financial Inclusion Policy (EGFIP) and Member Training, co-hosted with the Central Bank of Armenia, which will be held virtually on 14-15 October 2020.
Several virtual events will be conducted:
Public-Private Dialogue Meeting on 15 October 2020, which will focus on Know-Your-Customer (e-KYC) and electronic identification (e-ID) innovations advancing financial inclusion.The dialogue will be organized between AFI members in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) and private sector partners to deliberate on e-KYC/e-ID prominent innovations, respective policy enablers and lessons learned, and cooperation between public and private sectors to implement these innovations in EECA countries. The session will serve a platform to discuss the cross-cutting considerations such as women, youth and other disadvantaged groups, in a bid to further draw value from e-KYC/e-ID innovations as an enabler for financial inclusion.
Developed-Developing Country Dialogue on 15 October 2020. The overall objective of this dialogue is to reach shared understandings of effective regulatory framework for e-KYC and e-ID and evaluate different approaches applied by developing and developed country financial regulators to balance between financial integrity and financial innovation.
ECAPI is the primary platform for AFI member institutions in the EECA region to support and develop their financial inclusion policy and regulatory frameworks and to coordinate regional peer learning efforts. It aims to resolve regional challenges and elevate the voice of the EECA region on key financial inclusion policy issues.
