AFI welcomes GSMA as Global Public-Private Dialogue Partner

The GSMA, a global organization uniting over 1,000 mobile operators and businesses, has become a global partner for AFI’s Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) platform.

Speaking at the AFI Global Policy Forum in San Salvador, AFI Executive Director Dr Alfred Hannig said that “since 2023, AFI has benefited from having GSMA as an Africa regional PPD partner. Through this enhanced collaboration, we will work together to foster public-private dialogue, organizing joint activities on key issues, and promoting a unified approach to advancing financial inclusion.”

“GSMA is dedicated to fostering a sustainable digital financial ecosystem, advocating for ensuring service safety and reliability, and promoting innovation,” said Ashley Olson Onyango, GSMA’s Head of Financial Inclusion and Agritech. “AFI members’ commitment to financial inclusion and financial health aligns with our own goals, and the PPD platform provides a unique opportunity to advance financial inclusion and financial health, especially for the underserved.”
