Agence Française de Développement (AFD) works to build a fairer, more united, and more sustainable future by investing in concrete, human-centered, and responsible solutions. It finances and supports projects which combat poverty and inequality, while preserving global public goods such as the climate, biodiversity, and global health.
Since 2019, AFI and AFD have been working together to build resilience to climate impacts through Inclusive Green Finance (IGF) policies which expand access and usage of financial services in climate-vulnerable countries. In March 2024, AFI and AFD announced a two-year global project to help Central Banks and regulators to develop and implement effective IGF strategies and policies, to assess and report on the impact of those policies, and to raise awareness globally of IGF’s vital role in climate transition.
