On 28 March, Ariff Ali, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) and Chairman of AFI’s Board of Directors, officially opened AFI’s new Pacific regional workspace, located within RBF headquarters.
The workspace will house AFI’s Pacific Region Manager, Mereseini Tuivuniwai, and will facilitate exchange and collaboration between AFI and the member institutions of AFI’s Pacific Islands Regional Initiative.
“This move signifies AFI’s commitment to fostering closer ties with its members and strengthening regional cooperation in financial inclusion,” said Governor Ali. “I look forward to AFI utilizing this space and enhancing their support to RBF and PIRI members. RBF deeply values this partnership with AFI, and looks forward to further advancing financial inclusion in Fiji and the surrounding region.”
“AFI is deeply grateful to Reserve Bank of Fiji for generously providing these office facilities,” said Dr. Eliki Boletawa, AFI’s Director of Policy Programs & Implementation. “AFI is a member-owned network, meaning this space is your space. The workspace will allow us to build more connections, and generate more insight and value for members, not just in the Pacific, but across our global network.”
