The transformative benefits of embracing new FinTech systems are key for promoting financial inclusion and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

However, this paradigm shift comes with challenges that extend to financial stability, consumer protection and the risk of financial exclusion. In order to support these objectives, regulators are developing new regulatory approaches, including innovation hubs and regulatory sandboxes (which we collectively term, ‘innovation facilities’).

This toolkit aims to help policymakers better navigate the different benefits and risks that different types of innovation facilities can produce.
