Our AFI Educate courses have been designed in response to demand for capacity building on financial inclusion policy. Open to both AFI members and the wider financial inclusion community, they cover the key aspects of this fast-moving policy area, allowing you to learn in a convenient format.

Courses are priced at US$250 per person, with discounts available if you book onto more than one course, or if there is more than one learner from your organisation.

Certified Expert in Financial Inclusion Policy
Our Certified Expert in Financial Inclusion Policy (CEFI) course, run in collaboration with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, will develop your ability to draft and analyze financial inclusion policies and strategies.

The course runs twice a year (March-August; September-February) and must be completed within six months. Estimated total workload is 150 hours, or 5-7 hours per week.

AFI Engage
What is AFI Engage?
Launched in 2024, AFI Engage is a one-year leadership and mentorship program for aspiring policymakers in the AFI network. It aims to foster the next generation of leaders, empowering them to take forward AFI’s mission of fnancial inclusion and sustainable development. 15 individuals were selected to form the inaugural 2024-2025 cohort.

Eligibility Criteria
Age: under 38 years old (at application submission deadline)
Experience: Minimum 4 years of professional experience. Must be a full-time employee of a paying AFI member institution.
Language skills: English proficiency is required.
Other criteria: Participants should demonstrate leadership potential. Women policymakers are especially encouraged to apply.

Leadership and Diversity for Regulators
This unique program, offered since 2019 by AFI and Women’s World Banking, builds regulators’ leadership skills and drives policies that bridge the gender gap in financial inclusion.
How it work: a senior official nominates a high-potential woman leader from their institution, and together, they develop, design, and implement a policy to enhance women’s financial inclusion.
