This case study explores how Comoros is advancing women’s financial inclusion through policy reforms, regulatory initiatives and ecosystem support aimed at expanding access to finance for women-owned and women-led MSMEs (WMSMEs).
It examines the opportunities and persistent barriers facing women entrepreneurs, including informality, limited access to credit, weak financial infrastructure and social norms, while highlighting emerging efforts to strengthen digital financial services, entrepreneurship support and inclusive finance policies. The study also identifies key reforms needed to unlock the full economic potential of women-led businesses and drive more inclusive and resilient growth in Comoros.
