This case study examines how Angola is advancing women’s financial inclusion through policy, regulatory and institutional reforms designed to expand access to finance for women-owned and women-led MSMEs (WMSMEs).
It explores the opportunities and structural barriers facing women entrepreneurs, including widespread informality, limited access to credit, financial literacy gaps and infrastructure constraints, while highlighting initiatives to strengthen digital financial services, MSME financing and gender-responsive financial policies. The study also outlines key recommendations to enhance the enabling ecosystem for women-led enterprises, supporting inclusive economic diversification, entrepreneurship and sustainable growth in Angola.
