This case study explores how the Republic of Guinea is advancing financial inclusion for women-owned and women-led MSMEs through gender-responsive policies, regulatory reforms and initiatives to strengthen the financial ecosystem.
It examines the barriers facing women entrepreneurs, including limited access to finance, informality, unequal asset ownership, social and cultural constraints, and gaps in digital and financial literacy. The study also highlights emerging opportunities through mobile money, targeted financial products, risk-sharing mechanisms and institutional support for women-led businesses.
The study presents key success factors and recommendations to strengthen the enabling environment for WMSMEs, improve access to financial services and support women’s entrepreneurship as a driver of inclusive economic growth in Guinea.
