JOB PURPOSE
Provide analytical and executive support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Office through timely research, strategic insights, executive communications, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring the CEO Office is well-equipped to respond to emerging business and operational challenges while effectively executing organizational priorities. The role serves as a trusted support resource to the CEO Office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide research and analytical support to the CEO Office by monitoring global economic, financial inclusion, geopolitical and industry developments, emerging trends and best practices, and translating relevant information into concise and actionable insights to ensure effective strategic priorities and decision-making.
- Conduct research and synthesize information from internal and external sources to ensure the CEO Office and senior leadership are supported with evidence-based recommendations, analysis, and decision-making materials.
- Draft and support the preparation of CEO Office communications and correspondence, including letters, key messages and stakeholder communications to ensure consistency, accuracy, appropriate tone and alignment with approved strategic direction.
- Review draft annual and progress reports prepared for AFI’s donors and funding partners prior to submission to ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness and alignment with agreed commitments, strategic priorities and reported results, and highlighting key issues requiring the CEO Office’s attention.
- Support CEO engagement with new potential funders and private sector by preparing background materials, coordinating engagement activities, managing the CEO action tracker, and providing administrative and project coordination support to ensure effective follow-up and alignment of priorities.
- Support the implementation and follow-up of strategic priorities and initiatives by maintaining trackers, monitoring agreed deliverables and timelines, consolidating updates, and escalating matters requiring attention to the appropriate level to ensure timely execution, accountability, and progress against strategic objectives.
- Monitor emerging issues, risks and opportunities relevant to the CEO Office’s priorities and undertake research and analysis to ensure timely escalation, consideration and response by the CEO Office.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and relevant external stakeholders to ensure alignment, collaboration, and the timely delivery of CEO Office priorities, while monitoring results and deliverables from CEO reporting lines and handling confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.
- Prepare high-quality executive materials including briefing notes, executive summaries, presentations, speeches, reports and dashboards to ensure information is accurate, relevant, well-structured and aligned with the CEO Office’s priorities and organizational positioning.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental or organizational objectives.
EDUCATIONAL / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Degree in Business Administration, Economics, International Development, Public Policy, Communications or related discipline.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in corporate strategy, business planning and supporting senior executive office.
- Must be well versed with conducting research, analyzing business trends with the ability to identify emerging risks, opportunities, and business implications.
- Experience in preparing executive-level presentations, reports, board papers and briefing materials.
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple priorities across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in engaging senior management and external stakeholders.
